DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a General Facilities Services Assistant I, you will carry out various activities related to such areas as building maintenance, material handling, and facility management. You will be responsible for assisting with routine repairs, installations, and replacements of common building items, equipment, and furniture, such as drywall, ceiling tiles, cabinetry, signs, partitions, office furniture, mechanical locks, interlocking floor tiles, doors, light bulbs, air filters, and compressor oil changes. You will also maintain the cleanliness and serviceability of facilities and equipment and maintain a clean and orderly inventory of tools, equipment, materials, and supplies.
In addition to maintenance duties, you will assist in the inspection of rooms, corridors, and stairwells to identify and mitigate safety hazards. This employee will also perform related custodial work, such as cleaning a work area after a project is completed by wiping down furniture, vacuuming, and returning items to their previous locations and cleaning areas inaccessible to custodial staff.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience in environmental/custodial services or general laboring; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Conditions of Employment:
This position requires a valid PA drivers license which is not under suspension.
Additional Requirements:
You must have experience with inspecting office areas or buildings for compliance with safety codes.
You must have in using basic hand and power tools.
You must have experience using Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, web based utilities and the ability to learn relevant software applications.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
