Job Abstract

Van Driver - GLCAP Fremont TRIPS -- $19.41 per hour; Hours and Days varies per week including evenings and weekends.

Summary: Operates vehicles in compliance with traffic and safety laws; transports seniors to sites, appointments, etc.

Education:

Required High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).

Experience:

Required five years' experience operating a motor vehicle. Prefer one year experience providing transportation services.

As a condition of employment, the following are additional requirements:

• Initial and periodic Motor Vehicle Records checks, maintain a valid drivers license, and maintain a safe driving record.
• Must have insured, dependable transportation available for daily use.
• Initial and periodic physical exams required.
• Must submit to initial and periodic drug and alcohol testing.
• Must submit to state and/or federal criminal checks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Operate vehicles in compliance with traffic and safety rules; maintain vehicle in prime operating condition; keep vehicle clean inside and out.
2. Provide transportation to seniors and others per requirements of funding agency or other contracting agencies.
3. Record mileage; obtain client initials or signatures and other documentation of daily route.
4. Assist passengers into and out of vehicle, secure passengers equipment.
