University Advancement at the University of Virginia (UVA) is seeking a highly qualified candidate to join the University Advancement Operations team as a Salesforce Administrator or Developer. This is a key role responsible for developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting system integrations, user access, and platform development to support multiple technology platforms for the University of Virginia Advancement Operations.
Key responsibilities:
Maintain the integrity of the database of record.
Provide support for advancement applications, such as Ellucian Advance, Salesforce CRM, and other associated applications.
Aid in the implementation process of our system transformation to salesforce CRM by ensuring data integrity, completing data mapping, testing, validating, integration, and system access.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and prioritize requirements.
This position will also be part of the on-call team which monitors various systems and scheduled processes.
Strong candidates for this role will have a good technical foundation in building and optimizing data systems, a love of learning, an ability to develop relationships across reporting lines, and will enjoy working in an agile environment. Excellent candidates will be able to adapt their communication style from collaboration with technical colleagues, diverse subject matter experts, and leadership, to working directly with our partners for their data needs or troubleshooting their issues. The successful candidate will complete complex assignments independently and collaboratively to help maintain continuity of operations during a transition from legacy systems.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
At least three years of related experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong preference will be given to applicants with Salesforce Administrator or Salesforce Developer certifications.
Experience with Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) design, development, implementation, and support integration across various systems.
Experience with modern integration tools like Boomi, Mulesoft, Informatica, Jitterbit, or SSIS as well as with APIs is highly desired.
Proficient in PL/SQL or TSQL such as in Oracle, SQL Server, etc.
Experience with REST APIs.
Proven success troubleshooting existing services, performing root cause analysis, and automating business processes.
Demonstrable experience preparing technical diagrams, logical data models, source-to-target maps, user-friendly documentation, and responsibilities for stakeholder and vendor communications.
Experience participating in a team-driven, deadline-oriented environment using project management tools and agile methods in an environment of shifting priorities.
Familiar with CRM systems such as Salesforce, Blackbaud, Microsoft Dynamics.
