Job Abstract

Position: Shipping Clerk/Customer Service Rep.

Working Hours: 7:30am-3:30pm, with flexibility required for start times between 6am and 8am. This is important and must be taken into consideration.

Total Hours: 40 hours.

Job Responsibilities:

- Organizing carriers for freight forwarding

- Scheduling trucks, dispatching, and coordinating with customers

- Making pickup arrangements with carriers specified on the Bill of Lading (BOL)

- Matching customer needs with available resources

- Negotiating rates with carriers

- Providing customer service to shippers and carriers

- Completing bill of ladings

- Estimating weight and calculating shipping costs

- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment

- Completing various miscellaneous duties as directed by management

Requirements:

- Two or more years of experience as a shipping clerk in a fast-paced shipping environment

- Experience with UPS/FEDEX online software, or excellent written and oral communication skills

- Basic math skills

- Experience working with FedEx and UPS shipping

- Effective planning and organizing skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks

- Proficient in PC skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
