Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian for our client. The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness throughout the library premises to ensure a pleasant and safe environment for patrons and staff. This position requires a proactive individual who takes pride in their work and can work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting all areas of the library including floors, shelves, furniture, and restrooms.
Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste in accordance with established procedures.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including replenishing supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and hand towels.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness of windows, doors, and other glass surfaces.
Assist in the setup and breakdown of meeting rooms and event spaces as needed.
Notify appropriate personnel of any maintenance or repair needs identified during routine cleaning activities.
Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a hazard-free environment for patrons and staff.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and submit requisitions for replenishment as needed.
Adhere to library policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality and patron interactions.
Collaborate with other staff members to support library initiatives and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior experience in custodial or janitorial work is desirable.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning protocols.
Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Pay Details: $16.00 per week
