We are currently seeking a Sr. Project Manager - Medicaid to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland (US-MD), United States (US).
Job Description – Sr. Project Manager Medicaid
Location: Baltimore, MD
Travel: Travel as required by client up to 75%
Remote work option: Remote
The Project Manager will work with the State Leader of the project and the implementation team to implement a modernized Behavioral Health ASO solution. The project manager will be responsible for developing and managing the schedule of State activities including participation in requirements gathering, review of deliverables and testing. The project manager will work on behalf of the State to ensure the vendor project plan and schedule meets the requirements of the contract and coordinates with the State activities described. The project manager will work with the state to review and validate requirements deliverables and lead business process analysis and reengineering. The Project Manager will work directly with contracted vendors, business users and the Maryland Department of Health to provide recommendations to the project team on project issues, risks and observations, while managing roll out of the new system.
Additional duties include:
- Develop and implement appropriate procedures and reporting for the implementation consistent with the overall Medicaid Modular transformation program
- Client relationship and expectation management
- Vendor performance management
- Preparing work plans, status reports
- Managing communication, coordination and performance of other stakeholders as needed
- Contribute to setting required project pace by defining corresponding project and individual responsibilities, objectives, tasks, schedules, and outputs
- Directly contribute to and share the responsibility for the project performance by planning, monitoring and adjusting project resources (people, budget, material, time)
- Manage project risks and issues: root cause analysis, implementation of corrective/preventive actions, compliance with PMI methodology, and continual process improvement efforts
- Create and sustain a culture that encourages high performance of individuals and teams
Employee is expected to undertake any additional duties as they are assigned by their Manager
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of Medicaid experience
- Minimum 5 years healthcare project management experience
- Experience working on large, complex systems projects
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
- Previous experience implementing an ASO solution (preferably Behavioral Health)

Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge the Medicaid program and MMIS support systems
- Strong leadership aptitude to foster a positive work environment that considers the dynamics of physical, social, psychological, and environmental factors
- Strong interpersonal skills to build client rapport and develop/discipline/reward employees
- Solid analytical skills and ability to make decisions and solve problems
- Excellent time management abilities
- Demonstrated problem-solving and customer service skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage work to a defined schedule
- Experience conducting meetings, interviews and making presentations
- Knowledge of CMS Certification (SMC)
- Knowledge of Medicaid Information Technical Architecture (MITA) and MITA State Self-Assessment components and processes
- Specific experience in evaluating quality assurance /quality control testing and User Acceptance Testing efforts
- Team player and a consistent, dependable performer with an excellent work ethic, flexible “can-do” attitude, and a results-driven commitment to success
- Ability to apply industry best practices and future state/federal mandates to existing systems
- Experience working with IV&V
Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this remote role is $97,132 to $140,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
