Responsibilities Silicon Valley Bank’s Leveraged Finance & Sponsor Coverage team provides creative debt solutions to support private equity investments in the technology sector. Primary responsibilities include leading due diligence, underwriting, and execution of debt transactions with a secondary focus on portfolio management and private equity coverage. The ideal candidate will have a background in underwriting and executing transactions for Sponsor backed transactions in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment. Essential Functions Underwriting Manage debt underwriting process (lead due diligence, prepare credit memo for internal approval, document negotiation, and loan closing process) for new platforms and follow-on transactions. Lead due diligence process including in-depth review and analysis of Company/Sponsor prepared diligence materials, historical financials, management presentations, CIMs, etc.; Review 3rd party materials including Quality of Earnings & Recurring Revenue Valuation Reports; Assist Associates with generating diligence request lists to drive underwriting process. Provide analysis and independent judgment to generate recommendations to Directors/MDs. Review detailed internal financial model prepared by Associates to ensure accuracy and understanding of Sponsor’s financial projections, including downside scenarios. Oversee compilation of loan approval packages. Present opportunities to loan committee. Portfolio Management Serve as primary point of contact and provide ongoing client support for assigned portfolio. Ensure timely and accurate reporting along with completion of all internal portfolio management reporting requirements and ad-hoc analysis. Coordinate with the appropriate internal personnel to provide clients with the entire SVB solution. Manage amendment/M&A processes for existing portfolio companies. Research and analyze information as directed including updating and maintaining portfolio analytics and credit statistics External Responsibilities Participate on calls with Sponsors and maintain active dialogue with management teams at portfolio companies. In CA, the base pay for this position is generally between $131,840 to $ 197,760 per year. In Denver, the base pay for this position is generally between $112,064 to $168,096 per year. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment. Preferred Qualifications Strong credit analysis and accounting skills. MBA preferred but not required. Formal credit training program preferred. Travel Moderate travel is expected including for management meetings, client events, trainings, or bank meetings. Location This position is a hybrid of remote work and in-office at either SVB’s Santa Monica, CA; or Denver, CO office.
