Specifically, this person will have an understanding of construction costs including but not limited to factors affecting site, labor, material, and process costs.
Skills and Experience Required:
Experience in construction quantity surveying, preferably in data center construction.
Experience with and understanding of construction costs including but not limited to factors affecting site, labor, material, and process costs.
Experience with large scale construction cost data and terminology.
Ability to clearly communicate to teams of varying technical understanding.
Ability to influence partner teams to deliver results.
Advanced skills in Excel VBA macros, formulas, and data visualization.
Ability to think logically and critically about data accuracy and dependencies.
Ability to analyze cost data and project attributes from various sources to identify cost savings opportunities.
Additional Skills Preferred:
SQL
Python
Tableau or Quicksight
Familiarity with Amazon Cloud Services, GenAI and/or Bedrock are preferred.
Key job responsibilities
Identify, locate, and consolidate data from partner teams and tools to create end-to-end data visibility, dashboards, and reports with key insights into cost savings opportunities.
Will work across teams and regions to understand key processes and how they influence the data quality and availability.
Will participate in meetings with partner teams and leadership to explain cost trends and cost savings opportunities.
About the team
This role will independently interact with stakeholders from partner teams around the globe, and work dynamically on analytics to drive process improvement and cost savings. The first projects this role will work on involved gathering and analyzing construction cost data to identify cost savings opportunities and driving those opportunities to results. This role will also prepare for and participate in business reviews that drive cost savings and improve cost trends throughout the org.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience in construction quantity surveying, preferably in data center construction.
- Experience with and understanding of construction costs including but not limited to factors affecting site, labor, material, and process costs.
- Experience with large scale construction cost data and terminology.
- Ability to clearly communicate to teams of varying technical understanding.
- Ability to influence partner teams to deliver results.

- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Understanding of and experience in working with Artificial Intelligence or GenAI tools.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
