Formal Education Required: a.Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiological Technologists b.CVI, RCIS or RCES certification preferred
Experience & Training Required: a.The State of Ohio requires that all persons who operate equipment that generates ionizing radiation or employ radio nuclides for imaging or therapy to be licensed in the modality for which they were employed/will be working b.Licensed by the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), in accord with the Rules of the State of Ohio, as stated in the Ohio Revised Code (3701:72.02) and are required to maintain licensure as required by that Code c.Technologist employed in the following modality shall be credentialed/registered as indicated: PRACTICE REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION Diagnostic R.T. (R) ARRT d.BLS and ACLS certified – if not ACLS certified must be completed in one year after orientation period e.One (1) year Radiologic Technologist experience in Diagnostic Area, Special Procedures or Cath/EP Lab preferred
3.Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications: a.Ability of operate lab equipment, catheters, guide wires, etc. b.Demonstrates clinical skills necessary to assist physician in performing invasive procedures c.Knowledge of equipment and technologies utilized in procedures, pressure monitoring, cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, EKG interpretation, aseptic technique and radiation safety practices d.Demonstrates ability to enter procedural events and information into hemodynamic computer e.Skill in interpersonal communication to effectively interact with patients, physicians, lab staff and other hospital employees f.Ability to lift and position patients g.Ability to utilize computer system and file system to facilitate patient records management h.Ability to work independently within established procedures and exercise professional judgment i.Ability work well within a team environment by accepting and offing honest and constructive feedback; by supporting team goals and encouraging other team members; and by collaborating with departmental team members to consolidate work, solve problems, create new methods and/or reduce costs.
