Job Abstract

Qualifications for Aide: ~ 0-12 semester units in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field ~ Ability to work with children ages 6 weeks-5 years of age in a child care setting. Qualifications for Associate Teacher: ~ 12 ECE core semester units or Child Development Associate Teacher Permit ~ 1 year of experience working with children ages 6 weeks-5 years of age in a child care setting. Qualifications for Teacher: ~ AA or BA degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field ~ 2-5 years of experience working with children ages 6 weeks-5 years of age in a child care setting. Qualifications for all positions: ~ CPR and First Aid Certified preferred ~ Must be in good health, able to lift 30 lbs. chest high, and pass a physical exam ~ Must be able to walk, squat, bend and stand; ability to move freely to supervise and engage in indoor and outdoor activities with children.

Key Areas of Responsibility: ~ Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum directly connected to the needs and interests of the children. ~ Keep children safe and healthy through proper supervision, authentic interactions and practicing good health habits. ~ Knowledge of High Scope, Developmentally Appropriate Practices, Desired Results Developmental Profile and/or ITERS, ECERS preferred. ~ Work collaboratively with other staff by practicing workplace values, flexibility, and being a team player. ~ Prepare meals/snacks, maintain classroom materials, and prepare supplies required for daily activities. ~ Assist children with diapering/toileting needs. ~ Maintain accurate attendance records using a digital sign in/out system. ~ Provide excellent customer service for families, school, community and each other.
