Criminal Justice@SPIA Initiative in the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University is looking for a full-time project manager to oversee a new network of researchers, practitioners, and policymakers working together on the challenge of reducing gun violence. The manager will work closely with Princeton faculty member Patrick Sharkey and collaborators at the National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform. Tasks include performing background research, identifying potential policy solutions, analyzing data, translating and disseminating research evidence, and contributing to written articles and/or reports. The manager should have experience publishing academic research, especially research related to violence and the criminal justice system. The manager will send high-level communications to other network members. The manager will be responsible for organizing multiple convenings to be held at Princeton, with assistance from a full-time project coordinator. The manager will also supervise the project coordinator for the network.

Responsibilities:

• Research, data analysis, and writing: Conduct literature reviews of peer-reviewed studies on policy proposals. Synthesize findings and translate evidence for broader public consumption. Contribute writing to wider dissemination via reports and articles. Lead writing and submission of academic articles related to the project.
• Event planning: Work with project coordinator to manage all aspects of events from initial planning to implementation and follow-up.
• Communications, budgeting, organization of files: Create high-level communications between and for network members related to evidence-based policy conclusions. Track budget and progress on all deliverables. Organize all documents.
• Staff management: Oversee tasks assigned to the project coordinator. Evaluate progress on the tasks. Collaborate with staff at the National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform as needed.

Essential Qualifications:
-B.A. required, master's degree preferred

Experience in literature review, and in reading and translating peer-reviewed research
-Strong skills in writing and clear communication
-Programming in R and Stata; data analysis skills
-Prior project management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

-PhD
-Prior experience in criminal justice policy
