The School & Library Marketing team at HarperCollins is seeking a creative and detail-oriented individual to join the team as a Marketing Coordinator. The School & Library team works across all age categories and focuses on titles with appeal in the educational and library market, including promoting titles that go on to win prestigious awards like the Newbery and Caldecott Medals. The Marketing Coordinator works closely with the children’s and adult library marketing managers to create and execute title marketing promotions, including educational guides, marketing decks, and social media copy and graphics.
The ideal candidate is someone who loves books, is a strong writer and communicator, is very detail oriented and a quick learner who thrives in a dynamic environment. This role reports to the Manager of School & Library Marketing.
This is a hybrid position based out of our New York office.
Responsibilities
Provides support to the library marketing team, including maintaining databases, meeting preparation, including PowerPoint decks, and review copy requests.
Coordinates submissions to national, regional, and state awards, and prepares award recap documents.
Plans and executes numerous mailings to school/library industry contacts.
Develops a variety of content for campaigns including but not limited to educator/discussion guides and content for social media accounts
Collaborates with team members on development of marketing campaigns.
Participates in the planning of major educational and library conferences.
Qualifications
Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills; exceptional attention to detail
Superb organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at once
Affinity for working as part of a team on group projects
Strong knowledge of social media and web technologies (e.g. Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, Facebook, Email deployment). Knowledge of Asana a plus
Interest in children’s and adult publishing
Ability to travel to 2 conferences each year and able to lift/move boxes up to 20 lbs.
College degree or equivalent work experience
At least 1-2 years prior experience in relevant industry

The salary range for this position is $50,700-$53,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.
