As the Respiratory Therapy Manager in our department, you will manage daily operations of site-specific cardiopulmonary services. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

Directing and coordinating activities of supervisory and educational personnel.
Researching and evaluating new technological developments and advancing in clinical practice and promoting cost-effective policies and procedures while assuring optimal delivery of services.
Developing action plans to improve metrics associated with the noted processes.

Responsibilities:
- Manages operational aspects of the department of <30 FTE’s.
- Directs and coordinates activities of supervisory and educational personnel.
- Responsible for orientation, evaluations and terminations of direct reports.
- Researches and evaluates new technological developments and advances in clinical practice and promotes cost-effective policies and procedures while assuring optimal delivery of services.
- Develops operating and capital budgets and action plans that address financial/productivity variances.
- Assists with the development of departmental planning to include policies, procedures and protocols.
- Organizes and participates in quality, engagement (employee satisfaction), patient, physician and other customer satisfaction processes.
- Develops action plans to improve metrics associated with the noted processes.
- At sites where applicable, the employee will perform blood gas puncture and analysis.
- If the employee is designated as a Technical Consultant by the blood gas Laboratory Director, the employee must meet minimum qualifications as specified by the CLIA code of federal regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy, an allied health field or a related field.
- Additional experience may be substituted for educational requirement.
- Diploma and/or transcripts must be provided for validation.
Certifications:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Licensed by the Ohio Respiratory Care Board.
Complexity of Work:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of five years experience to include critical care, medical/surgical, emergency department, cardiology and neurology management/operational experience (where applicable).
Physical Requirements:
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.
- May require sitting, standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
