Principal Contracts Administrator- Defense Industry- Onsite Position

As our Principal Contracts Administrator, you will work closely on a day-to-day basis with the program managers, business managers, and other functional organizations. You will be responsible for all aspects of contracts during the contract lifecycle, from the business development phase through contract closeout. Employee engagement and an ability to build strong internal and external customer relationships is key. We need you to be a self-starter and able to work both independently and collaboratively with team members. This role will have high visibility within significant programs, including division-wide leadership. We expect you to be well organized and able to meet high performance expectations in a dynamic environment, delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.

Salary Range - $ 102,900.00 - 137,150.00 per year

Your Challenge:
Support proposal preparation including data rights and commercial item assertions.
Review terms and conditions to assess potential risk areas and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
Lead contract negotiations and contract administration activities from proposal through closeout, in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer requirements.
Work complex assignments independently and support Finance, Program Management, and various levels of Management related to contractual requirements.
Administer daily contract activities for a variety of contracts and contract types, including cost reimbursable and firm fixed price; such activities will include establishing milestones, payment terms, initiating and monitoring invoicing and funding to support financial objectives, and providing various status updates to leadership.
Actively participate in customer meetings, performing and monitoring compliance to contract requirements and assisting with the change management process to assess and manage scope, schedule, and cost impacts.
Actively contribute to risk identification, assessment, and mitigation efforts related to Contracts.
Act in an advisory role to program management and site management related to contractual rights and obligations, compile and analyze data, and maintain historical information.
Under general supervision, develop solutions to both routine and complex contractual matters to ensure company compliance with contract requirements on assigned programs.
Assist management in achieving financial goals related to bookings, cash flow and sales.
Prepare written communications with internal and external customers for assigned contractual matters.
Maintain complete and accurate records of all customer-related activities and correspondence in defined company systems.
What You Bring:
Recent experience as a Contracts Administrator in the defense industry supporting non-commercial contracts with large Primes.
Knowledgeable of the US government contracting environment with direct experience working with the FAR and DFARS.
Experience negotiating complex terms and conditions and/or special contract clauses such as intellectual property and indemnification, for both new and continued execution of various commercial and non-commercial contracts.
Attentive to detail and able to handle complex contracts with minimum supervision.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multi-task in a challenging environment.
Ability to travel (less than 10% of the time)
US Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of commercial contracting
Demonstrated experience with multiple contracting formats, including Firm Fixed Price and/or Cost Reimbursable
Excellent decision-making skills that support resolution of complex problems while minimizing risk to the company
Ability to learn and utilize various data entry software tools and to adapt with changes to those tools
Proficient skills using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
