Job Summary
Ocean View School District is a K-8 elementary school district. There are three (3) middle schools and ten (10) K-5 elementary schools. We are in West Orange County in the City of Huntington Beach. Under the supervision of the school principal, an SDC Substitute Teacher provides direct instruction and support services as specified in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) for the special education pupils identified.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education:
• Mild/Moderate setting (SDC or RSP) = Valid California Credential, authorizing service to Mild/Moderate (or Mild to Moderate Support Needs) special needs students is required.
• Moderate/Severe setting (SDC M/S) = Valid California Credential, authorizing service to Moderate/Severe (or Extensive Support Needs) special needs students is required.
• Possession of valid, current CPR and First Aid certification is required or obtained within two months of employment. (Mod/Severe only)
• EL authorization or equivalent is required.
• Autism Spectrum Authorization is required.
• Master's Degree in Education or related field is preferred.
Experience:
• Two years working with severely handicapped or moderate/severe students is preferred.
• Recent successful experience working with children with special needs and willingness to work with staff members and management in a collaborative manner.
