TITLE I AIDE
The Ephrata Area School District - Ephrata, PA, is recruiting for the position of part-time Elementary Instructional Aides for our Title I Program. Under the general direction of the building principal, in cooperation with the building Intervention Specialist, the Title I Aide will perform duties necessary to meet the needs of students in the area of Language Arts. Schedule to be determined by Principal.
The Elementary Instructional Aide for Title I will provide support and assistance to students to reinforce skills that have been taught by the teacher. Aides will direct and/or implement lessons and activities as directed by the teacher and provide tutorial support for students, also as directed by the teacher.

Educational Requirement: Title I paraprofessionals whose duties include instructional support and who were hired after January 8, 2002, must have (1) completed two years of study at an institution of higher education; (2) obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree; or (3) met a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or, as appropriate, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness) [section 1119(c) and (d)].
Experience: Prior experience working with children and the public is desirable.
Language Skills: Ability to work and communicate with students, parents & school personnel from diverse backgrounds. Ability to correspond in written format, spell check & use proper English.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic math calculations is required.
Reasoning Skills: Ability to understand and complete oral & written directions. Ability to organize self and others and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.

Must demonstrate regular and punctual attendance. Must interact positively with administration, students, staff, parents, and community members.
Must demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior & speech and dress in a neat, clean, and professional manner.
Must follow all District policies, work procedures and reasonable requests by proper authority.
Must maintain the integrity of confidential information within the Business Office.

Other Requirements: Applicants must also possess the following criminal clearances obtained within the last 12 months: Act 34 - PA Criminal Record; Act 114 - FBI Background Check; Act 151 - PA Child Abuse Clearance. The Ephrata Area School District also requires a pre-employment drug test, physical, and TB test upon offer of employment as directed by PDE and the PA Department of Health.
Hourly rate: Based on experience
