Lecturer provides a quality learning experience for students. Lecturer faculty perform instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the Lecturer faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning.
Teaching load is five public speaking courses per semester (15 credit hours). Required to teach five days per week during traditional daytime hours (Monday-Friday). Service to the department is required.

The College of Liberal Arts currently has 113 full-time and 152 part-time faculty in 8 academic departments. The College serves the University's Core Curriculum programs and enrolls more than 2,850 undergraduate students and more than 300 graduate students in 34 undergraduate and 17 graduate majors. Experience Required:
An earned degree Master's degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Experience Preferred:
Master's degree in communication or related field is required, as well as prior experience in teaching public speaking at the secondary or collegiate level.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Experience in teaching public speaking at the secondary or university level is required. Expertise in technology preferred. Willingness to learn specific technology is required. Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Experience in teaching strategies designed to increase retention preferred. Ability to work collaboratively in a team with other instructors.
