The supervisor’s primary duty and responsibility is to serve as the subject matter expert and manage the total work effort associated with operation, sustainment, restoration, and modernization of the HVAC/R, Chiller, Air Compressor, DDC equipment and systems including review and approval of contractor plans and procedures. Duties also include managing the maintenance and plumbing team work execution requirements, per contract requirements.
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Acts as technical advisor to the Facilities Manager for all matters relating to assigned functional areas.
- Provides day-to-day guidance and direction to others in the same department.
- Leads a crew in the performance of skilled operation, maintenance, repair and installation work on HVAC/R, Chiller, Air Compressors, and DDC equipment and systems, to include mechanical and plumbing systems.
- Acts as technical advisor to the Facilities Manager for all matters relating to assigned functional areas.
- Collects data, prepares and submits periodic reports, and prepares and submits work schedules for all assigned work areas.
- Reviews shop work orders for completeness, proper method and quality of accomplishment, and availability of materials both before and after work.
- Establishes unique work standards, enforces commercial/industrial standards and priorities of work.
- Inspects work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, policies and regulations and standards.
- Provides space, tools, test equipment, and materials for functional areas.
- Implements methods and procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Supports the project Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety, including training and attention to the adherence to safety requirements pertaining to particular trades or skills.
- Ensures proper housekeeping practices are observed.
- Ensures the subordinate employees’ time records reflect an accurate record of hours worked and job order numbers to which time is charged.
- Makes recommendations to the Facilities Manager for long-range planning.
- Supports, implements (where applicable), and enforces all project and corporate procedures, plans, regulations, and rules.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Effectively coordinating a number of projects simultaneously.
- Having the ability to work well under pressure.
- Being onsite during normal business hours and the being able to report back within two hours after the Government’s normal working hours.
Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations):
Mandatory
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to obtain a SECRET Security clearance.
Skill in the use of MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint at an intermediate level.
Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
U.S. Citizenship
Preferred
Current Secret Security Clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other related field.
Previous experience working on a Government Contract or on a Government Facility.
Licensed Journeyman HVAC/R
Successful completion of an HVAC/R/DDC apprentice program or equivalent trade school training, education and experience that provides training and experience with maintenance, repair and operation of: DDC systems, cooling towers, fan coil systems, closed loop water treatment, industrial HVAC/R systems and air balancing.
Five (5) years’ relative experience with HVAC/R and DDC Controls at a comparable level of responsibility in projects of similar size, scope and complexity.
EPA Universal refrigerant handling license (certified to work with all CFC, HCFC and HFC refrigerants).
