Job Overview
Metabolomics and lipidomics approaches are increasingly used for biomarker discovery. The Ressom Lab conducts research on using these approaches for identification of biomarkers for hepatocellular carcinoma. The research involves sample collection, sample preparation, mass spectrometric analysis of samples, and integrative data analysis.
The Research Associate is in charge of conducting this biomarker discovery process - helping to advance the identification of biomarkers for early detection of cancer, and contributing expertise in metabolomics and lipidomics approaches for biomarker discovery within the Ressom Lab and across the department.
Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
The Research Associate reports to the Principal Investigator, Habtom W. Ressom, Ph.D., Professor of Oncology.

Requirements and Qualification
Ph.D. in analytical chemistry or biochemistry
Preferred qualification
Experience in mass spectrometry and metabolomics
