We are currently hiring an organized Driver/Personal Assistant (D/PA) to support our President/CEO out of our Corporate Headquarters in Largo, MD. The purpose of this role is to be a chauffeur and personal assistant to the President and CEO as a full-time, and on-call driver, as well as have the ability to perform various clerical assignments.
The D/PA reports directly to the President and CEO, providing him support in a one-on-one working relationship, where rapport and communication are key factors to success.
The basic duties of the position are listed below but other duties may be tasked as needed:
Transport President/CEO using company handicap-accessible vehicles to places of business and desire, and interact with these employer family and associates in a professional, compassionate, and conscientious manner.
Physically assist the President/CEO daily, in and out of vehicles and/or airplanes, to work sites, off-site meetings and various planned events.
Use discretion regarding activities and physical health of the President/CEO.
Possess familiarity and knowledge of Physical Security and Operational Security (OPSEC), both from an offensive and a defensive perspective.
The personal driver may also be directed to tasks such as dropping off and picking up of the employer from events, meetings, and airports.
Carry out routine inspection on the car to ensure that it is always in good condition.
Identify electrical and mechanical problems that may hinder smooth working of the car and carry out minor repairs and maintenance where necessary.
Plan travel routes, check climate and traffic reports to ensure accurate travel time.
Safely keep receipts for vehicle repairs and maintenance and other records and reports concerning the employer’s car(s).
Ensure that the car is clean at all times by washing both its inside and outside parts.
The D/PA may also be asked by the employer to book air tickets, perform shopping duties, or deliver messages on his/her behalf.
Keep a travel log to record locations travelled to, travel time, and work hours.
Perform various clerical and administrative tasks during non-driving time such as answering phones, filing, computer work, etc.
Arrange local, domestic and foreign travel arrangements and accommodations.
Responsible for organizing and submitting the President/CEO’s expense reports.
Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access to the main entrance when present.
Update calendars and schedule meetings when necessary.
Review calendar of events, assist President/CEO and Executive Officer with their day-to-day tasking.
Assure all sensitive calls, documents are handled in an accurate and confidential manner.
Perform other duties and tasks as directed.
Work Conditions:
Very high-paced Corporate Executive Office and high-visibility public environment.
Follow executive dress code.
Work hours will be daily and will vary based on the CEO’s schedule must be prompt and on-time.
Most work will be accomplished in a handicapped-accessible vehicle and at business meetings and events directly interfacing with employees, associates and public figures.
Position includes: 50% Driving, 20% reaching, 10% lifting, 10% walking and 10% standing.
Requirements
Education/Experience/Skills:
High School Diploma.
·Five to ten (5-10) years’ experience in an executive level driver/personnel assistant position.
Clean driving record with no points, or history, of moving violations.
Must maintain clean driving record throughout employment.
Completed Defensive Driving Certificate.
Two (2) or more years of proven Self Defense experience.
Ability to lift 100lbs unassisted.
Advanced solid written and verbal communication skills, a must, along with excellent organizational skills and the ability to be proactive when issues arise.
Corporate/Executive level communication skills both written and verbal.
Multi-task and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize based on the requirements.
Superb customer service attitude, greet visitors and other staff members in a professional manner at all times.
Attention to detail and problem-solving.
Current Driver’s License required; you must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
U.S. Citizenship required.
All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
