Responsible for partnering with Line of Business subject matter experts to understand business and audience needs. Performs all or a combination of the following activities: Partners with clients to analyze audience and develop strategy to address documentation needs. Manages multiple assignments concurrently in a fast-paced environment. Designs and develops complex documentation including: business requirements, technical and functional specifications and other technical project artifacts, manuals, technical training materials. Analyzes, recommends, and documents business procedures and best practices, identifying documentation and process gaps. Provides alternatives. Actively participates in developing documentation strategy, policy and guidelines. May edit material authored by others. Provides guidance to technical writers and other document author/owner. May maintain document library or repository. Provides guidance to less experienced team members. Assists others to resolve documentation gaps, providing i put and suggestions based on observations.
What you will be doing:
Ensures all procedures adhere to Mechanics Bank writing styles, branding standards, guidelines and templates.
Coordinate with a wide variety of internal business partners to understand business processes and document all procedures and methods. Schedule and host project meetings.
Conducts interviews and partners with Subject Matter Experts to analyze needs and ensure process accuracy to understand the line of business needs.
Other projects as assigned by management
Design and compose simple materials and job aids related to procedures and controlled documents.
Assist in maintaining bank system of record for controlled documents
Who you are:
2 year degree preferred, but equivalent work experience in Technical Writing, journalism or five years banking experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
3 years of technical writing experience required.
Proven experience with the ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences.
Experience in Bank Operations including Retail, Commercial, Treasury, Lending, or Compliance.
Advanced knowledge in WebEx, SharePoint, Microsoft, PowerPoint, Visio, Adobe, & Adobe Pro software programs
Knowledge of Navex- Policy Tech or similar software.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills, including proofreading, editing and formatting documentation.
Advanced Knowledge of standard document and form formats.
Conducts interviews and partners with subject matter experts or managers to analyze audience needs to ensure process accuracy, establish an understanding of business functions and tasks, and recommend strategy to address internal procedure documentation or publishing needs.
Skilled at using various recording tools to gather and document line of business processes and procedures.
Thorough understanding of Mechanics Bank Branding and Style requirements.
Thorough understanding of Mechanics Bank controlled document policy and procedures.
Strong collaborative attitude and customer service skills to partner and influence internal customers.
Ability to self-motivate and work independently in a team environment to resolve problems with minimal management oversight.

Salary: $67,000-85,000 annually
Final compensation package will be determined by the work experience, education, and/or skill level of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.
