As the Professional Services Technical Engineering Director, you will be responsible for the delivery of Technical consulting engagements ensuring customers get the most value from their Google Cloud Platform (GCP) investments. You will lead a high-performing team of talented engineers who deliver technical expertise and guidance to our customers, helping them successfully adopt and leverage GCP solutions. You will be responsible for building a team culture, developing and managing client relationships, and ensuring the overall success of the organization in exceeding customer expectations and driving revenue growth.
Technical delivery spans each discipline within the GCP portfolio, including: AI, Data and Analytics, Security and Compliance, and Application Development, and encompasses regulatory and compliance regimes across the Federal, State, and Local, and Higher Education landscapes.
In this role, you will partner across multiple teams (e.g., engineering, support, security, compliance, account management, etc.) to enable deeper integration points, resulting in reduced time to value for our customers. You will utilize leadership skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, change management skills, and a disciplined approach to technical delivery. Your expertise in operating high-scale services and Cloud Engineering architectures and practices, in public cloud environments will be instrumental in building and delivering successful customer outcomes.
Travel required up to 30% of the time. Must be a US Citizen to access Controlled Unclassified Information.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $261,000-$374,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Manage and oversee delivery of GCP customer engagements (e.g., consulting, scoping, migrations, implementations, etc.) from start to finish, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Deliver foundational technical architectures exceeding Google Public Sector customer requirements and supporting technical and business objectives.
- Hire, mentor, and manage a growing team of high performing Public Sector engineers.
- Formulate long-term public cloud technology outlook and strategy for Google Public Sector’s strategic customers.
- Analyze market trends and customer needs to adapt service offerings to ensure continued relevance.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years experience in architecting, developing, or maintaining public cloud solutions
- 7 years of experience managing Professional Services Engineering teams
- Experience with scaling, mentoring, and managing a technical team in regulated environments
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA or Master’s degree in a management, technical, or engineering field with 7 years of customer-facing experience
- Experience in application/workload migration to public cloud providers
- Experience collaborating with channel partners, systems integrators, and third-party developers to deliver high-impact solutions
- Excellent communication, presentation, problem solving, and management skills, and experience translating business requirements into technology solutions
- Understanding of the following: IT operations, database systems, networking, IT security, application development, service architecture, cloud-native application development, hosted services, storage systems and content delivery networks
