The M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing seeks applicants for t he position of Research Technician to work on a project funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality titled “Prevention of Infections Through Appropriate Staffing.” As part of this study, we will be conducting qualitative interviews with various healthcare personnel involved in infection prevention and control in acute care hospitals across the country. Responsibilities will include recruitment and enrollment, scheduling interviews, consent process, assistance with qualitative and quantitative data preparation and analyses; assistance with manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications and scientific abstracts for conferences; and other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:
In-person and virtual data collection via electronic surveys
Participant recruitment, consent, enrollment, scheduling, and follow-up
Assist with manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications and scientific abstracts for conferences
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing, public health, psychology or related field
One year of relevant research experience
Experience with qualitative data collection
Familiarity with administering structured quantitative interviews
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Work as a research assistant on a prior research project involving qualitative data collection
Experience co-authoring manuscripts for publication and scientific abstracts
Detail-orientated
Excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with varied deadlines and frequent interruptions
Quick-learning skills to work in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of procedures for participant screening and consent
Proficiency in research software programs (e.g., REDCap, SPSS, NVIVO). Equipment Knowledge
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
Research Technician’s who work from a location off campus must have a laptop, mobile device, WiFi access and private location (e.g., no roommates or others present) for virtual data collection which will be done by Zoom or phone. Research office space is available on campus for those who do not have Wifi or a private work location.
Available workdays are Monday through Friday, with days/times subject to the study participants’ availability and Research Technician’s schedule.
