Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supports the VP of People Services with the design, development and implementation of strategic HR initiatives, programs, and processes
- Partner with team to support workforce planning needs by collaborating with field managers to understand skills and competencies required for positions
- Provide an onboarding process that builds team member engagement and fosters an effective, smooth transition into the organization. Continually assess orientation and onboarding programs and processes, and recommendations for enhancement
- Partners on the annual Performance Management cycle, which may include team member communications, trainings, audits, analysis and timely follow-up is executed to ensure that all milestones occur according to the defined performance management timelines
- Provides consultative services and handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, team members, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
- Attends and participates in team member disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education, Skills, & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with a concentration in human resources, organizational leadership or related field or a minimum of 1-3 years of comprehensive HR generalist experience
- Intermediate knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including onboarding practices, team member relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws
- Ability to work collaboratively and openly with staff at all levels
- Detail and action-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Ability to travel occasionally
- Maintains confidentiality on HR matters, as appropriate
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications; HRIS Experience, ADP a plus
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Ability to problem solve and think strategically
- Experience working in restaurant industry a plus
