Responsibilities Responsibilities: Summary: The Associate Estimator assists in the development of timely and accurate bid estimates for the Construction operations team within an assigned line of business, Region or Division. Primary Outcomes: Under close supervision, supports the estimation process by reviewing proposal specifications, drawings, and attending pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required proposal contents. May travel to job locations to assist in confirming project site conditions. Maintains files and supporting documentation for estimate figures, change orders, and credits. Assists in development of methodology, tools and approaches using fundamentals of H&M Project Management practices. Business Acumen: Developing understanding of business components and implications relating to estimating and cost control within the assigned Region or Division. Assists in ensuring compliance with the Henkels & McCoy established Project Management Methodology and upholds H&M safety and quality management protocols. Leadership and Interaction: Individual contributor with responsibilities for performing basic estimation analyses. Interfaces with various internal stakeholders on planning and scheduling related items and functions including reporting requirements, progress reporting, etc. Effectively communicates within assigned project population. May provide functional advice or coaching to less-experienced staff. Aids in ensuring that team goals, roles, protocols, and business relationships are consistent with high-performance requirements and congruent with the company's strategy. Leads by example in an environment that fosters trust and candor, maintains personal accountability, and communicates assertively and constructively. Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or Related Field. Aptitude to complete formal classroom and on-the-job training assignments to gain understanding of industry practices, processes, and standards, and their impact on projects. Introductory knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and general profit/loss terms. Ability to learn complex estimating software and processes.
