Job Description Summary
Penn Engineering Online is seeking to add a temporary Instructional Technologist to its team. In addition to providing troubleshooting support, technology consultations, and training for all program stakeholders, this position will be directly responsible for a portfolio of approximately 3-4 courses. On a weekly basis, this position will work 40 hours. Evening and weekend support during exam periods will sometimes be required. This position will be joining a fast-paced, agile team in a growing and dynamic program.
Job Description
Provide technology and customer support for stakeholders across the program, including students, staff, faculty, and TAs.
Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of approximately 3-4 courses, and assist in supporting technology and logistical requests.
Develop training materials and documentation, perform testing, develop workarounds, and support vendor relationships.
Lead or contribute to projects for improving teaching technology and service delivery such as technology pilots, data analysis, and product reviews.
Support the hiring, onboarding, and supervision of large teams of TAs.
Candidates must be willing and able to occasionally work hours on in the evening and on weekends
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s in a related field preferred
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience, preferably in higher education
Demonstrated experience managing or facilitating large online courses or working on or with teaching teams
Some programming experience in Python and/or Java (preferred)
Expertise with administrating LMSs (Canvas, Coursera, EdX), LTI integrations, and associated instructional technologies
Strong customer service skills, positive attitude, and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in a highly collaborative team environment
