About Our Client
My client are developing large-scale EV charging stations across the US, starting in WECC. These stations will often incorporate solar generation, and energy storage to offset the demand.
Job Description
The Electric Vehicle - VP of Permitting - California will -
Oversee all aspects of permitting and entitlements from site selection through to construction.
Assist site selection efforts by leading appropriate screenings including zoning, land use, wetlands, critical habitat, archaeological and historic features etc.
Select and manage external consultants to complete permitting studies and reports (e.g. phase 1 ESAs, biological studies, CEQA documents, BLM documents, etc.)
Manage relationships with local jurisdictions, communities, and relevant state and federal agencies for a growing portfolio of projects in California and other states.
Lead zoning changes, land use conversion, and environmental and permitting processes as required for the construction of our large EV charging stations and associated generation, storage, and/or retail facilities.
Implement processes and tools that maximize organizational efficiency and minimize development risks.

The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will have -
At least 10 years of experience managing permitting for energy developers, consulting firms, and/or public agencies.
Prior experience permitting solar, wind, EV charging, and/or transportation projects. Other commercial real estate permitting experience is a plus.
Significant experience with the CEQA process in California.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, self-awareness, and entrepreneurial spirit.
