Orders and purchases equipment, supplies, and materials; accounts for petty cash; submits receipts for reimbursement; collects, monitors, and approves employee hours worked and related payroll expenses; assists with the development and oversight of a program budget
Prepares and coordinates the development of publicity for special events and programs, including news releases, flyers, pamphlets, brochures, and announcements.
Conducts periodic inspections of facilities; ensures areas of concern are addressed; communicates emergency issues that may arise at the parks and facility sites.

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Operations and services of a comprehensive community services program of assigned area such as recreation (senior, adult, youth, adaptive, aquatics), facility use, performing arts, active transportation and education programs, community volunteer programs.
Principles of providing functional direction and training.
Principles, practices, methods, and techniques of recreation, sports, and leisure services programs, management, operations, facilities, equipment management, or volunteer recruitment, as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Education:
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in recreation administration, public administration, human development, or a related field.
Experience:- Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience coordinating comprehensive recreational programs or programs applicable to specific area of assignment.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, to be maintained throughout employment.
- Possession of, or successful acquisition within probationary period, a valid certification in American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, and AED, to be maintained throughout employment.
- As assigned, possession of a valid Therapeutic Recreation certification, desirable.
- As assigned, possession of, or successful acquisition within probationary period, a valid Safe Food Handler certification, to be maintained throughout employment.
- As assigned, possession of, or successful acquisition within probationary period, a valid Lifeguard certification and Swim Instructor Certification, to be maintained throughout employment.
- As assigned, possession of a valid USA Gymnastics Membership and Safety certification desirable.
- As assigned, possession of a valid Certification as a Parks and Recreation Professional through the National Recreation and Park Association desirable.
