Job Description
Quality Systems Management:
Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with USDA regulations and company standards.
Ensure all quality assurance procedures and documentation are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Regulatory Compliance:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all USDA inspections and audits.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of USDA regulations and ensure the facility's operations comply with all relevant standards.
Prepare for and facilitate external audits and inspections, and ensure timely resolution of any findings.
Product Quality and Safety:
Oversee the monitoring and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
Investigate and resolve quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
Conduct regular facility audits to ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) plans.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor the quality assurance team, providing training and development opportunities.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the quality assurance department.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and comprehensive quality records, including inspection reports, audit findings, and corrective actions.
Prepare and present quality reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
Customer Focus:
Collaborate with production, R&D, and customer service teams to address customer complaints and quality concerns.
Ensure customer requirements and specifications are met or exceeded.

The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance within the food industry, preferably in a USDA-regulated environment.
Bilingual Spanish is a must have
In-depth knowledge of USDA regulations, GMP, HACCP, and other food safety standards.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
