Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our manufacturing team. This position will be responsible for operating and programing computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality machined stainless steel or other material parts according to engineering specifications, and customer requirements. This role involves programing, setting up machines, monitoring their performance, conducting inspections, close communication/feedback to engineering group, and ensuring the machines are calibrated to optimal levels for production.
Responsibilities
Complete operation of CNC machines including but not limited to 4 and 5 axis milling machines.
Operating industrial machinery, which can include a hydraulic press, grinder, borer, or overhead crane, manual and CNC lathe.
Fitting, selecting, and replacing the right tools to active machines.
Performing proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories.
Setting tolerance levels and cutting speeds to achieve acceptable quality.
Translates the requirements of detailed part drawings into measurements for production.
Inspecting workflows to ensure that technical and quality standards are met.
Devising a work plan to efficiently carry out daily machining.
Perform preventative maintenance on machinery.
Keep the shop floor clean from debris, immediately clean spills, and fix leaks.
Assist in organization and disposal of scrap/recyclable materials.
Perform various manufacturing tasks across the shop floor.'
Manual deburring of stainless-steel components.
Clear and efficient communication with other departments and/or functions.
Frequently moves materials weighing up to 50-75 pounds.
Perform other tasks as required.
Qualifications
Excellent coordination skills required.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to read and write G and M codes.
Familiarity and understanding of engineeing GD&T and dimensioning.
Must be familiar with proper inspecting methods and documentation.
Must possess intermediate level math skills.
Must be able to read, comprehend, engineering drawings, blueprints, and engineering solid models.
Beginner-level familiarity with Mastercam software.
English: great communication skills both verbally and written.
Must possess basic computer skills.
Must be able to withstand bending, standing, and lifting.
Regular attendance is an essential function of this job position.
Forklift: able to operate or willing to train and certify.
3-5 Years of production of metal machining experience.
