AFM specializes in monoline commercial property insurance for business and industry in the middle market. This position is accountable for providing assistance to one or more Production Underwriters in creating and maintaining a profitable portfolio of business. Key accountabilities are supporting account teams in the development and retention of quality new and renewal business, operating within delegated authority, preparing information for review, and providing excellent and responsive service that adds new value to our broker and customer relationships.
Responsibilities

An Account Underwriter is a strong teammate with ability to anticipate business needs. Working alongside internal customers and other colleagues, the successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, good judgement, and decision-making skills in all areas of accountability. Work closely with the Production Underwriter on all aspects needed to develop new business and retain a profitable book of renewal business.
Review/Evaluate Statement of Values, Company Financials and Loss History of current and prospective insureds. Work with the Production Underwriter to establish coverage, pricing, terms and conditions and place reinsurance, as directed. Maintain underwriting systems to be accurate and consistent within company guidelines.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred. High school or equivalent required.
2+ years AFM or FM Global experience or 2+ years industry experience desired!
