The Opportunity
You, as Formulation Specialist I formulate and aliquot reagents in a clean manufacturing lab environment by following specific procedures and documenting those results using good documentation practices. You will inspect materials and verify specific details related to those materials. Attention to detail and strict adherence to guidance documents are key to success in this position.
Also, you are:
- Formulating solutions following standard operating procedures; solutions include aqueous solutions containing salts, organics, acids, bases and/or modified DNA and organic solutions. Support formulation projects, including partnering with other departments on OOS/NCR investigations and new equipment implementation as needed
- Verifies manufacturing batch records and labels as directed for accuracy and adherence to good documentation practices before in-process items release
- Conducting and analyzing test results for compliance with specifications and reporting any abnormalities.
- Ensuring the effective and accurate use of materials and equipment in the production of quality products. On-time completion of scheduled work orders
- Executing protocols and validation builds to support new process or material validation, process characterization, and stability studies. Following cGMP and ISO standards or guidelines as they apply to manufacturing
Who you are
Education and Experience
- A.A.S. or B.S. degree, preferred, in basic sciences or life sciences and/or 1+ years of experience in a formulation manufacturing environment
Behaviors, competencies, and qualities of the ideal applicant.
- Technical knowledge of scientific practices prefer direct experience with pipetting and formulating solutions
- Knowledge of safety precautions required for working with biohazards
- Demonstrated understanding of lab cleaning practices and aseptic techniques
- Quality-oriented mindset with attention to detail and a desire to deliver service excellence
- Good communication, technical writing, and diplomacy skills. Organizational, planning and detail follow-up skills. Ability to work in a multi-functional team environment. Ability to handle and resolve conflicts and work under schedule/milestone pressures. Demonstrated ability to be flexible and resourceful
The expected salary range for this position based in California is 44,500 - 82,700 USD annually. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
