About This Role: Duties include but are not limited to:
Collaboratively creating, planning, and conducting a variety of library activities and events for adults
Creating promotional materials in support of branch programming
Assisting all patrons at the service desk with circulation and information inquiries, including reader’s advisory, instruction of library computer applications, and technology assistance
Rebalancing and weeding a portion of the branch’s physical collection
Participating in branch and system teams and committees
Looking for and facilitating branch and system outreach opportunities
Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in library or information science.
Preferences:
Work experience in a busy, customer-oriented library or bookstore.
Experience with facilitating library programming or facilitating programs through a community organization.
Experience assisting others to use technology
Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
Experience troubleshooting problems with office equipment such as copier, printer, scanner, and fax machine.
Knowledge of principles of library collection management, including weeding.
Special Requirements: The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business. Work Schedule: This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) position. Scheduling flexibility is imperative. The schedule includes working one evening every week and rotating weekends (both Saturday and Sunday). The schedule may vary depending on the needs of the library. Bull Run’s hours of operation are Monday through Wednesday 10:00 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Starting Salary Range: $64,311.00 - $77,052.92 ADDITIONAL BENEFITS:
