These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations.
Posting Summary	Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Planner Estimator for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). The position initiates, plans and coordinates work orders for the repair, maintenance, changes and additions to the university Facilities. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Maintains liaisons with the department facilities coordinates discussion individual problems and request with heads of all university departments. Liaison’s with the department facilities coordinators, discussing individual problems and request with heads of all University departments. Initiates, directs and plans preventive maintenance programs for buildings and equipment. Prepares estimates for departmental projects and maintains control of the project to completion. Conducts acceptance inspections of contractors and in-housework. Coordinates periodic inspection of assigned facilities to determine short range maintenance and repair requests. Prepares responses and administers status of fire code violations, life safety projects and building code compliance issues.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience	Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. A minimum of two years’ experience in institutional project work or maintenance field.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities	Must have the ability to read blueprints, write specifications, and develop project costs. Good communication, organizational, and customer service skills; and computer literacy in industry standard software are also required. Must be able to develop project specifications, write project justifications, and develop project costs.
Preferred Qualifications	Ten years’ experience in building trades with minimum of five years’ extensive experience in mechanical/electrical repair and maintenance field.
