PositionOverview:
The purpose of the ProjectProcurement Manager role is to handle all procurement-requiredplanning, execution, control, and closeout activities for assigned projects.
Responsible for leadingand handling one or more sophisticated projects to deliver the agreed scopewithin planned quality, time, and cost parameters to satisfy the specifiedproject requirements. Supporting the overall business case, targeted margins, andcash flow objectives.
You will work towardsyour goals by demonstrating a clear understanding of the project businessstructure, good and proactive communication skills, an ambitious attitude, andthe ability to multitask and coordinate with various functions.
Whatyou will be doing:
- Getting involved early within the project at the proposal stage, to drive material cost optimization and develop an outstanding sourcing strategy for bids.
- Establishing material budgets and supervising costs through the project execution phase.
- Clearly define the supply chain. Crafting and maintaining project procurement plans, assuring outstanding supply chain execution throughout the entire project, and detailing and presenting the supply chain strategy to cross-functional project teams.
- Understanding the scope of supply and customer contract agreements, performing risk analysis preparing for negotiations with suppliers identifying supply chain risks, and supervising the supply chain during project execution to avoid potential issues/risks.
- Coordinating with various commodity managers both locally and globally for supplier negotiations to ensure optimization of project spend. Coordinate Supplier meetings for Design-to-Cost workshops. Work with Suppliers, Engineering, and Supply Chain on cost-cutting measures.
- Develop RFQ templates based on Project requirements and coordinate RFQ activities with the Procurement Team.
- Implementing professional sourcing processes coordinating procurement activities to ensure the supply base meets the project’s cost, delivery, and quality requirements and proactively driving procurement strategies in the project process- pooling, bundling, crafting to cost, etc.
- Present overall Supply Chain status to Upper Management within the global organization, including the status of Engineering releases, RFQ status, Purchase Order status, FAI status, and deliveries. Collaborate with Siemens Headquarters in Europe to access the European supplier base.
- Ensure effective and open communications throughout the project team and stakeholders.
- Identify, address, and lead critical Supplier situations during each Project phase, such as capacity issues, delivery issues, financial issues, etc. Develop prioritization plans for suppliers.
What you will need to besuccessful:
- Bachelor’s degree- focus on supply chain or engineering discipline desirable
- 5+ years of project experience
- Proven broad supply chain knowledge
- Proven solid understanding /experience of Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated solid communication and listening skills
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills
