EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Compensation Specialist. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.
Responsibilities:
- Research, prepare, present and administer compensation administration activities, including designing, testing and implementing system enhancements and automation.
- Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges and market trends.
- Maintain and administer job and pay structures.
- Interviews and surveys employees and managers to gather and document job and organizational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
- Assess jobs and their duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
- Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations and compensation policies and procedures.
- Prepares and presents summary reports of job and compensation analysis information and routine compliance audits.
- Conducts data and cost analyses to be used in employee compensation activities.
- Plans and communicates preferred methods and best practices for hiring, training, compensating, and evaluating employees.
- Build and maintain relationships with business partners and leadership across the organization.
- Participate in various corporate events as a member of the HR Team, including Take Your Child to Work Day and Business Reviews.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, human resources or related fields
- 8+ years of experience in designing and administering compensation programs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Extensive knowledge of human resource laws, regulations and best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills
- Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or CCP
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and as part of a project team
- Experience in data integrity analytics, reporting, and system control practices
Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
