| Position Summary | Gettysburg College seeks a full-time, service-oriented Senior Administrative Assistant to support Musselman Library. This position reports directly to the Dean of the Library. Founded in 1832, Gettysburg College is consistently recognized nationally and ranks among the top colleges nationally for our value, programs, and liberal arts experience. Enrolling 2,400 undergraduate students from over 40 states and nearly 40 countries, Gettysburg College is known for its rigorous liberal arts and sciences education with a student experience that intentionally integrates learning that occurs inside and outside of the classroom. We serve an increasingly diverse liberal arts community of 2,300 undergraduate students, including 20-25% first-generation college students and over 16% Pell Grant recipients. The primary role of the Senior Administrative Assistant is to provide a variety of administrative, technical, and clerical support services for the Dean of Musselman Library, serve as the main point of contact for the office, and work cross-departmentally with library staff, campus partners, and members of the campus community. The Senior Administrative Assistant’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to: support the day-to-day operations of Musselman Library, including serving as the main point of contact; management of internal funding streams managed by the Library; oversee library sales (publications, book sales) and funds associated with endowment gifts and donor contributions; reconciliation of monthly credit card transactions; calendar and scheduling support; editing and managing some website content; planning for library events and programs; support Friends of the Library, including Honor with Books program, tracking donations, donor relations and stewardship activities; serve as liaison with Student Employment Services, Facilities Services, Campus Safety, and other campus partners; maintain student employment hiring records, time sheet approval, and budget; and serve on library committees. |
| Qualifications | Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; college degree preferred. Experience in an office setting providing administrative support is required with experience in a higher education setting or library preferred. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of general office principles and the following demonstrated abilities: experience in event planning; ability to communicate verbally and in writing, including demonstrated cross-cultural competency in communications with diverse groups of students and colleagues; work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple work demands simultaneously, maintain a high level of accuracy, and meet deadlines; maintain confidentiality; work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment; be service-orientated and have the ability to interact positively with students, faculty, and the public, as well as a commitment to participating in and building an inclusive, equitable and diverse campus community.
