The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program scales compliance and safety excellence design, construction, commissioning, deployment, and operations of data centers. As a member of the Data Center EHS team (DCEHS), you will be responsible for supporting EHS programs including management system implementation, environmental compliance programs, and global oversight. You will play a part in ensuring all EHS issues are identified and addressed by working collaboratively with a cross-functional team of Google Data Center departments and contractors. You will also provide program leadership and oversight to EHS initiatives to continue to create and iterate the EHS program.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $117,000-$172,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Own and maintain environmental permits/programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Identify and evaluate operational EHS risks, assessing the impact to the business, analyze risk scenarios to determine their potential impact to the business, and design/lead programs to mitigate those risks.
- Conduct assessments of existing EHS programs to ensure alignment with regional strategy, including analyzing EHS business risks and identifying, describing, and estimating efficiencies to be gained through established programs.
- Assess EHS training needs based on identified operational risks and ensure that workforce training activities are provided to meet business and legislative requirements. Manage the regional portfolio of EHS initiatives and programs for all local operations and regional initiatives.
- Investigate and analyze incident reports involving work-related injuries and illnesses, and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in risk management within Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS).
- 2 years of experience in program or project management.
- 2 years of experience managing Environmental Health and Safety Programs.
Preferred qualifications:
- Credentials from Board of Certified Safety Professionals (CSP) or equivalent agency.
- Experience communicating with Federal, State, and Local Authorities regarding EHS issues.
- Experience in the Data Center or other electrical safety industry.
Experience designing and implementing systems to manage EHS operational risks.
- Knowledge of both environmental and safety compliance.
- Excellent collaboration, project management, and written and verbal communication skills.
