Summary
The Senior Buyer, reporting to the Supply Chain Procurement Manager is responsible for corporate purchases, shop supplies, and service agreements. Aligned with company policies, this role encompasses establishing service contracts, sourcing, negotiating, managing vendor relationships, and devising purchasing strategies. May be required to supervise the work of less experienced buyers, oversee processes and/or projects. Additional responsibilities include preparing requests for proposals (RFPs), request for quotes (RFQs), and other procurement-related functions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the primary objectives are to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, achieve cost savings, and secure favorable terms for Athens Services.
Job Description
- Cultivate and nurture effective business partnerships with chosen suppliers, while actively seeking out new suppliers offering enhanced service and cost efficiencies.
- Negotiations on pricing and delivery schedules.
- Draft Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Request for Quotes (RFQs).
- Follow best practices for competitive bidding, price analysis and negotiations.
- Purchase order management.
- Foster strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, and peers.
- Administer and establish pricing agreements and contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
- Resolve discrepancies related to purchase orders, deliveries, invoices, warranties, Returns and other procurement matters.
- Facilitate the vetting and onboarding of new suppliers.
- Manage parts returns, warranty recovery and core exchange tracking/reporting.
- Could be tasked to supervise the work of less experienced buyers and/or oversee processes or projects.
Qualifications:
- 5 years experience as a Buyer. Experience in the automotive or truck parts industry is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field is desired but not required.
- Strong knowledge of purchasing and sourcing processes, strategies, and best practices.
- Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills.
- Analytical with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience with procurement and inventory management systems, software solutions, Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).
- Strong ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal service skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Annual Salary Range: $70,000.00 - $105,000.00
