Job Overview
The Senior Manager, Business Strategy is responsible for leading an internal consulting-like, strategy and analytics team that partners with executive leadership across T-Mobile for Business. The Sr Manager, Business Strategy and their team leverage deep problem-solving skills to deliver insights that help internal stakeholders make critical strategic and operational decisions to enable rapid growth of T-Mobile for Business in both existing and new markets (inclusive of industry, segment, etc.). The Sr Manager, Business Strategy oversees a team that coordinates projects across multiple workstreams and provides problem structuring, analysis and business framework to drive strategic decisions, innovative solutions, business growth, and transformational change.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership in the research, analysis, and creation of business cases to assess and prioritize business opportunities.
- Partners with leadership to define vision, strategies, and tactics of the organization.
- Selects, develops, and evaluates a team of strategists and analysts that work to identify where T-Mobile plays.
- Identifies relevant new business opportunities, ecosystems, partnerships and markets for existing and near-term business solutions.
- Manages a team of strategy and business analysis leads who tackle ambiguous and complex analytical problems.
- Enables team to extract and analyze data, synthesize findings, and translate insights into actionable recommendations. Crafts strategic stories out of numbers.
- Presents complex analytical findings in a clear, concise, and decision-impacting manager.
- Supports executive strategy presentations.
- Leverages a hypothesis-based approach and structures strategy frameworks to build recommendations quickly and iteratively.
- Establishes and maintains key internal partnerships and builds trust with various stakeholders.
- Effectively collaborates across functional groups and teams to influence decisions on small to large scale opportunities/recommendations in an efficient manner.
- Encourages and supports team members in building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders, increasing buy-in along the way.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree Business, Analysis, Finance, Technology or related field (Required)
- Master's/Advanced Degree MBA (Preferred)
Work Experience:
- 2-4 years 2+ years direct supervision and management experience. (Required)
- 7-10 years 7 + years in strategy or analytics function with at least 3 years in management consulting or corporate/business unit strategy preferably in wireless, high-tech (software, internet/new media, entertainment/content, etc.) or other B2B business units. (Required)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Problem Solving Consulting style problem solving that can break complex ambiguous problems into pieces using a hypothesis-driven approach; structing multiple workstreams and identifying interdependencies. (Required)
- Analytics Oversee and perform broad array of analytic capabilities: providing insights on big data sets, predictive analytics, complex modeling, etc. (Required)
- Communication Excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to synthesize and communicate complex data in a clear, digestible way to broad audiences. (Required)
- Executive Level Presentations Ability to build logical narrative structures independently tailored to executives. Create compelling visualizations (Required)
- Project Management Lead small teams on project basis; identify areas of strength and opportunity in others. Strong organizational skills to drive work forward (Required)
- Financial Analysis Proficiency with reading and understanding implications of income statements, balance sheet (Required)
- Team Management Effectively coach, guide, mentor team members. Facilitate career development and empower individuals to grow and challenge themselves (Required)

New York Pay Range: $197,166 - $266,754
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives.
