DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Performs para-professional police and various support activities to assist in crime prevention.
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Utilizes departmental computer system to check in and out equipment to police officers, i.e., keys, ticket books, non-lethal weapons, etc. • Maintains logs and records of equipment checked in and out of the radio room. • Completes inventory of the radio room daily. • Utilizes personal computer and mainframe to input, maintain, and retrieve information, i.e., roll call rosters, statistical data, offense reports, etc. • Assists Police Officers in writing of reports on an as needed basis. • Inventory and assign equipment in the Radio Room. • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. • All duties and responsibilities may not be included in the above job descriptions.
WORKING CONDITIONS This position occasionally requires stooping or bending. During shift change lifting required when checking in/out equipment approximately 40-50 pounds or an equivalent weight.
There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature and air conditions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through attainment of a High School Diploma or a GED.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS No experience is required.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS None.
