Communicates with a variety of internal and external individuals (e.g. Public Affairs, College Police, student housing, students, staff, legal counsel, etc.) for the purpose of providing and/or acquiring accurate and up-to-date information concerning human resources and Title IX processes, policies, procedures and related legal requirements.
Compiles data from a wide variety of sources for the purpose of analyzing issues, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures, and/or monitoring program components.
Develops and implements mandated training (e.g. curricula and training materials for AB 1825 sexual harassment prevention, child abuse and neglect mandated reporters, Title IX sexual violence prevention, unlawful discrimination, and other EEO topics; delivers training sessions; identifies appropriate vendor-delivered training programs; schedules/deploys trainings; monitors timely completion; etc.) for the purpose of ensuring timely completion of mandated training by all applicable employees.
Develops and implements outreach and educational campaigns (e.g. designs and publishes marketing and awareness informational materials, maintains Title IX website and applicable social media platforms; publicizes applicable campus and community resources, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the employee and student community understands the District’s obligations under Title IX and other state and federal laws and regulations.
Develops and implements policies and procedures (e.g. Title IX prevention and awareness, etc.) for the purpose of meeting compliance requirements.
Develops programming and response protocols for the purpose of supporting the District’s efforts in promoting equity and creating an inclusive campus environment.
Implements work plans, policies, practices, and/or activities for the purpose of complying with regulatory requirements and established guidelines and ensuring effective utilization of personnel.
Investigates student complaints alleging unlawful discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual violence and other complaints and alleged violations (e.g. receives and reviews complaints, conducts intake interviews, explains reporting options and resources, oversees and coordinates the work of investigators, ensures timely, impartial investigations, conduct compliant mediations, etc.) for the purpose of reaching resolutions.
Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
Performs case management services (e.g. maintains communications with all parties throughout the investigation and resolution process, assesses and takes action to mitigate any potential safety risks that may be involved, coordinates and makes referrals for support services, maintains comprehensive case logs, files and notes, etc.) for the purpose of monitoring for legal mandated deadlines.
Prepares and develops a variety of materials (e.g. reports, correspondence, employment relations documents, procedures, manuals, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information, and/or complying with legal requirements.
Prepares comprehensive reports of findings of fact and recommendations for the purpose of identifying, recommending, and determining appropriate remedies within mandatory deadlines.
Presents information on a variety of topics related to administrative responsibilities (e.g. overviews of services, policies and procedures, etc.) for the purpose of providing general information, training others, and implementing actions.
Receives and responds to complaints regarding incivility and unprofessionalism (e.g. drafts sanction letters on behalf of the Chief Human Resources officer, etc.) for the purpose of referring parties to supportive services when needed.
Recommends policies, procedures and/or actions for the purpose of providing direction for meeting the district's goals and objectives.
