Responsibilities Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents, located in New Kent, Virginia, provides comprehensive medical, behavioral, rehabilitative, and educational services for children and adolescents ages 2 through 22 who are challenged by co-occurring medical and behavioral diagnoses. Cumberland Hospital is one of the few specialty children’s hospitals providing dual treatment protocols for both medical and mental health issues. Cumberland includes a 62 bed Hospital Program, a 16 bed Inpatient Acute Program, and 30 bed Residential Treatment Program. Qualifications Summary: Completes documentation and implementation of treatment plans ensuring involvement and understanding by the patient by using the correct terminology, daily logs, and progress reports and submits appropriate written and verbal reports by required deadlines. Ensures patients' rights are observed by encouraging questions regarding treatment and explaining the program. Works cooperatively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Acts as an advocate in providing safe care delivery to promote wellness. Demonstrates the ability to respond calmly and effectively to emergencies, de-escalate patients verbally, and complete accurate, timely documentation. Job Requirements: One year of related experience with adolescents and children or relevant college coursework in a related field. Previous experience with emotionally or physically disabled patients preferred. Current Virginia driver's licensure with a good driving record Must be able to sustain physical activity and remain on feet throughout the scheduled shift.
