Position Summary:
The Financial Accountant will be responsible for processing cash receipts, as well as, preparing monthly journal entries, monthly reporting packages (MRPs), Joint Venture (JV) reporting packages, and other projects as needed. The position requires: communication, research, attention to detail, and adhering to deadlines. The position will report to the Financial Accounting Supervisor.

Primary Responsibilities:
Cash receipt entry – checks
Distribution of copies of cash receipts related to gas disbursements and/or royalty accounting
Prepare project templates related to cash receipts
Analyze, reconcile, and prepare:
Bank reconciliations (JV bank accounts)
Monthly recurring and reversing journal entries
Monthly Reporting Packages for consolidated entities, for example AR Land
Monthly Reporting Packages for Joint Venture legal entities
Assist with AR imports
Meet all monthly and quarterly deadlines
Responsible for understanding and explaining activity in assigned MRPs (including JV’s) with proper documentation and monthly wire request, as needed
Support JV Reporting, including quarterly FERC reporting
Process monthly Netout settlements within the deadline
Document and update monthly timeline
Assist with various financial accounting tasks, as needed
Provide support for financial reporting, tax, and internal/external auditor requests
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
1-2 years relevant accounting and industry experience preferred but not required
Experience with computer systems and programs such as Oracle (R12) and Oracle Fusion a plus
Proficient with MS Office, including advanced Excel skills
Focus on work quality – accurate, thorough, and strong attention to details
Be willing to work overtime during the monthly close if needed
Effective in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting to and managing change in a positive and proactive manner
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to interact effectively with various levels of staff and management in various departments
