The Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling all hotel cashier transactions; reviewing, organizing and compiling management reports on a timely basis and ensuring the accuracy of guest billings and city ledger transactions. He/she is also responsible for effectively communicating concerns and/or related issues to all levels of management and performing guest service agent duties as required, including check-in, check-out, switchboard operation and reservations.
Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities:
Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel(s).
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag while working.
Comply at all times with Highgate standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times. Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.
Respond to all guest requests, problems, complaints, and/or accidents presented through the front desk, comment cards, letters and/or phone calls, in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner. Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
Check guests in and out.
Take reservations.
Maintain Lobby space.
IRD orders as needed.
Give/schedule wake-up calls.
Assist with simple food prep and delivery.
Balance number of rooms and revenue.
Prepare necessary reports.
Balances and verifies Front Desk’s (& F&B Cashier’s if applicable) work.
Performs the required system saves during the night shift to ensure a current backup of the hotel files is available.
Posts and audits banquet checks in order of the banquet summary sheet (if applicable)
Reconciles all food and beverage outlet postings (if applicable).
Performs an accurate bucket check of all in-house registration cards.
Ensures all guest accounts are accurately posted with room and tax.
Performs nightly computer maintenance by monitoring the file sizes and performing weekly and monthly reorgs.
Ensures the completion of all H.I.S. night audit functions.
Distributes all close day reports and morning reports to the appropriate departments.
Maintains Front Office service standards at highest level during night hours.
Thorough review and correction of potential room’s revenue report to ensure accurate posting of rates and assignment of market segmentation.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent required
College course work related to field helpful
Experience in a hotel or related field preferred
Physical Requirements
Long hours sometimes required.
Late/Overnight Shifts
Light work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to life, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Ability to stand during entire shift
