Position Overview:
Responsible for providing engineering guidance to facility Project Delivery teams in minimizing Total Cost of Ownership of facilities (including all phases of a facility’s lifespan); to ensure design teams incorporate and document operational standards and energy performance in projects; and to provide feedback on opportunities to reduce GHG (greenhouse gas emissions), aligning with FPS Facility Management goals in energy efficiency, ‘decarbonization’, and operational efficiency.
This role will update and develop Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing Design Guidelines, establish the procedures to maintain and enforce those Guidelines, and will instruct and support Project Managers in the application, enforcement, and exception request management of the Guidelines during project delivery process.
The work of this role can inform Executive Leadership for decision making regarding operations, costs and projecting future capital expenses to maintain Sutter Health owned and operated assets. This position will follow departmental processes in performing tasks that may include but are not limited to coordinating facility services, project management support, energy management, engineering plan review and management of engineering standards.
Job Description:
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's: facility management, project management, business or related field or equivalent experience/education
- Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is highly desired
- Professional Engineering License is highly desired
- Other: Advanced Project Management, Finance or Technology (based on area of work focus) training and certification from business acknowledged organizations
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 8 years of recent experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- In-depth knowledge of energy markets and procurement principles.
- In-depth familiarity with the energy management field's principles, theories, concepts, practices, processes and procedures, including plug load optimization, heat recovery, HVAC replacements and sources of renewable energy.
- Knowledge of licensing requirements
- Familiarity of OSHPD permitting requirements.
- General knowledge of real estate energy accounting practices.
- Verbal and written communication skills, solid interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities and work group facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated human resource management skills including the ability to attract, retain, motivate, develop and manage performance of staff.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills balancing attention to details with an ability to operate strategically.
- Leadership skills and the ability to initiate and maintain clear communications.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, delegate tasks, manage and balance multiple interests, and resolve conflicts.
- Consultative skills to gather needs and translate requests into potential solutions.
- Client relationship management skills to maintain positive relations between fpd and affiliate leadership.
- Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and business communications computer software programs, Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, Yardi and/or other real estate asset management software is preferred.
- Skills in identifying, researching/ analyzing and creatively resolving problems.

Pay Range is $57.22 to $85.83 / hour
