Cloud Engineer•Clearance RequiredCompany: Logistics Management InstituteLocation: ArlingtonJob Description:OverviewLMI is seeking a Cloud Engineer to work with a dynamic team to assist the Government Customer with IaaS and PaaS day-to-day operations, maintenance, and improvements and provide subject matter expertise regarding event, incident, change, problem, and patch management, with experience in Azure Hosted Infrastructure (AHI) Common Services and AWS.ResponsibilitiesProvide technical subject matter expertise on infrastructure engineering with an emphasis on modern, cloud infrastructure, hybrid cloud models, and platform services. Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services-from inception and design, deployment, operation, and refinement. Assist the Government Customer and other team members with the design, implementation, and administration of Linux (Red Hat) AHI. Assist with the planning and application of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) on remote hosts to ensure security compliance. Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews. Assist with monitoring the health, performance, and operational trends to proactively identify issues before they become incidents. Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation; evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity. Assist the Government Customer with administration activities, market research, and documentation to help with decision making.Qualifications Required:Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years' experience as a Cloud Engineer with cloud infrastructure design, architecture, and services experience, including platforms such as Azure/AWS. Cloud related certification(s)•e.g., MS Azure or AWS certifications. Minimum of 5+ years of experience programming in at least one of the following languages: C, C++, Java, Python, or Go. Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks. Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of drive. Understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems. Sound knowledge of server infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud computing Experience and understanding of the network stack as it pertains to system engineering/architecture. Working Knowledge of key mission-critical infrastructure such as Exchange, Active Directory, VMWare, Window Server, Linux, Storage (, NAS, SAN), Relational Databases, VCS, Networking (Routing, Firewall, Load balancers), Web services (Apache, Tomcat, IIS), Citrix, File transferring (SFTP, FTP). Capable of working with software development team and platform infrastructure team to provide meaningful guidance to both for code development and deployment. In-depth knowledge of version control of release artifacts to facilitate upgrade rollout and rollback. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Clearance: Active Top Secret.Preferred: Experience with GitLab CI/CD. Experience with bash shell scripting.
