The Assembly & Fab Supervisor person leads a production team and has overall responsibility for the performance and continuous improvement. This includes leadership, assigning work, training, facilitating problem solving, and communicating policies. Other duties as assigned.
B Shift is Friday/Saturday/Sunday 5:00am - 5:30pm
What Will You Do?
Direct efforts to ensure timely production and shipment of cost-effective, high-quality products.
• Assists with and communicates performance objectives, providing the context and meaningful targets for team members.
• Assists with establishing metrics regarding people, quality, delivery, cost and innovation; manages and encourages discussion pertinent to team members.
• Drives a structured continuous improvement process ensuring employee empowerment by:
- Encouraging the generation of improvement ideas for safety, quality and delivery or cost reduction;
- Assigning responsibility for investigation and implementation of approved ideas;
- Providing feedback concerning idea closure;
- Facilitating the removal of improvement road blocks.
- Conducts daily/weekly stand-up meetings with team members to discuss issues, metrics, and the plan for the day and emphasize continuous improvement.
- • Ensures cross-training of team members to increase flexibility and coverage in the work area.
- Utilize and implement Lean/Continuous Improvement elements to identify, evaluate and pursue process improvement opportunities, continuously.
What Do You Need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or related technical field preferred.
- Three (3) years supervisory experience in a low-volume/high-mix equipment manufacturing function or specific experience to American Augers.
- Results driven and action oriented; good problem solving and issue resolution skills.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, along with the ability to make effective group presentations
