The Revenue Cycle Operations Quality Assurance Analyst (RCO QA Analyst) will work with the Manager of Training & System Optimization to ensure that end user workflows, training and policy documentation, and IT Epic Systems updates meet RCO Quality Assurance standards.
Primary areas of ownership include: (1) completing end user workflow assessments and post live training, (2) maintaining the distribution methods and quality of RCO documentation, (3) partnering with IT to maintain excellent system/workflow quality, and (4) validating/triaging RCO tickets.
Essential Job Statements
Runs end-user productivity and error rate reporting to identify opportunities for workflow improvement.
Provides at the elbow support/training to workflow deficient end users with the goal of reducing registration errors and denials.
Reviews and validates all training and policy documentation updates to ensure workflow validity and that documentation meet style and quality standards.
Maintains documentation distribution methods for revenue cycle operations; includes managing document versions, index updates, SharePoint site updates, etc.
Completes testing on new or updated workflows developed by the Process Improvement Team.
Partners with Epic IT to ensure all RCO IT Updates meet QA standards.
Collaborates with RCO leadership on planning and executing performance improvement initiatives.
Effective support to Revenue Cycle operational areas including directors and their teams.
Provides collaborative direction of operations to staff at all access points for practice/clinics.
Standardizes training and creates the optimal end-user service experience.
Identifies and pursues opportunities to improve value of operations through enhanced service offerings, improved operational efficiencies and/or cost reductions.
Performs other duties as assigned and/or participates in special projects to support the mission of VCUHS. Accepts alternate assignments, as required to fulfill business/training needs.

Employment Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration Finance, Accounting or closely related field.
A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Education:
Master’s Degree Healthcare Administration; Business Administration Finance, Accounting or closely related field.
Licensure/Certification Required: N/A
Licensure/Certification Preferred:
Cadence, Prelude, Professional Billing, and/or Hospital billing Epic Certifications
Minimum Qualifications
Years and Type of Required Experience
Three (3) years of experience developing training materials and delivering training in a classroom, online, or in a one-on-one setting.
Three (3) years of related patient access experience in a Medical Office, Healthcare System, or Hospital.
Experience with Medical and Insurance terminology.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Strong understanding of Registration/Scheduling/Pre-Certification principles and workflows.
Strong communication skills; ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and simply.
