Associate Director, Human Insights Lead – Food Business
Embedded Insights Lead is the insights integrator and key strategic advisor to the Food business. This role reports to the Food BU Studio Lead and represents the holistic view of the consumer and market. Embedded Insights Lead grows and leverages the BU Knowledge Base, works hand in hand with the Studio Lead and creative agency to lead the BU Learning Plan to 1) identify new opportunities, 2) ensure insights influence enduring strategies 3) amplify the potential of current initiatives and 4) translate ideas to creative input
The Embedded Insights Lead is also responsible for proactively addressing key business issues, managing key research priorities/plans and providing actionable recommendations that drive business results by converting insights to action. The Insights Lead will work closely with agency partners to develop robust, consumer driven marketing plans. Strong leadership skills are required as a key business partner within the organization - consistently bringing the voice of the consumer to the table, enabling effective decision making, effectively leading Clorox and agency partners, and helping to shape the future direction of the business.
In this role, you will:
Serves as Insights Lead for Food BU offering strategic input to GMs, Sales, R&D, and Marketing Studio Leadership.
- Drives growth with best-in-class insights across core business, innovation, category leadership and other key business growth drivers.
- Leads identification of consumer truths and connects Brand teams and agency partners in the development of insight driven marketing executions.
- Key contributor to all BU strategy creation and updates.
- Manages, mines, synthesizes and grows BU’s Knowledge Base to ensure integrity and richness of insights. Continuously leverages existing and directs generation of new insights to inform business decisions.
- Develops Learning Plan in partnership with Studio Lead; Manages insights budget to ensure funding and resourcing available to deliver on business priorities.
- Directs execution of BU’s Learning Plan, orchestrating specialized resources across BU Embedded Insights, Dynamic Deployment, Shopper Insights, Insights Capabilities and external vendors.
- Develops strong cross-functional relationships and fosters integration of knowledge across the Clorox organization and agency partners.
- Connects the BU and central Insights teams, promoting two-way knowledge flow and best practices. Influences total Insights, marketing and enterprise-level capability development priorities.

- Strong cross functional collaboration as demonstrated by ability to deliver results in a cross functional team and receive positive feedback from cross functional partners.
- 10-15 years of business experience, 7+ in marketing, advertising or insights.
- Experience in CPG/FMCG industry; Experience working with and/or for agency partners
- Strong record of partnership with senior business stakeholders across Marketing, Sales and R&D and evidence of influencing strategic business decisions/outcomes
- Proven track record of exceeding objectives and delivering on business results

–Zone B: $132,200 - $265,700
–Zone C: $120,200 - $241,600
